The Starlights have been named USA 2, while USA 1 will be the Skyliners based out of Stamford, Connecticut, and Monsey/Elmsford, New York.

The two junior teams represented the United States at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2019 in Neuchatel, Switzerland on March 15-16, 2019.

Based in Buffalo Grove/Vernon Hills, Illinois, and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, our Starlights placed second earlier this season at Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy and third at Leon Lurje Trophy in Gothenburg, Sweden.

 2018 World Championships

Skokie Valley skater Bradie Tennell placed sixth overall in the Ladies competition March 23 at the World Championships in Milan, Italy. Her short program (above) on Thursday left her in seventh, while her free skate (below) was good for fourth place. Way to go, Bradie!

      Skokie Valley SC skater Bradie Tennell won the Senior Ladies competition at the Philadelphia Summer International event held July 31-August 6 at the IceWorks Skating Club in Aston, Pennsylvania (just outside Philadelphia).
     
     
    2016-17 Season

     Skokie Valley SC skater Jason Brown skates to a 7th place finish at the World Championships in Helsinki, Finland, on April 1. Below in the "Kiss & Cry" set are choreographer Rohene Ward, Jason Brown, and coach Kori Ade.
     
     2017 U.S. SYNCHRONIZED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS CONCLUDE IN ROCKFORD
     (2/25/17) - The 2017 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships concluded on Saturday in Rockford,
     Illinois. Eight champions were crowned at the competition which started Thursday.
     SVSC Starlights placed as follows:
     Juvenile, 6th
     Intermediate, 5th
     Novice, 4th
     Junior, 3rd
     Adult, 5th (their best score this season!)

     SVSC Synchro Juniors Win
      Feb 16-18, 2017 - The Skokie Valley Starlights Junior team won the gold medal in the Junior division at the Zagreb Snowflakes International competition in Croatia. The team represented Team USA this weekend in Zagreb. We are so proud of these girls and thankful for the Skokie Valley Skating Club for all of their support, say the team managers.
     




    We also would like to extend our thanks to Skokie Valley for working with the Starlights as we host the 2017 Synchronized National Championships in Rockford, Illinois at the BMO Harris Arena. There will be a live feed on Icenetwork.com if anyone is interested in watching the competition. Skokie Valley has 5 teams qualified for this Championship at the Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior and Adult division.

     Kayne-O'Shea 4th at Four Continents Senior Pairs
      Former SV skaters Tarah Kayne and Danny O'Shea ended last week in 4th place in the Senior Pairs competition at   Four Continents. The event took place in Taipei City, Taipei, Feb. 16-21, 2016.

    The Starlights squad of Junior ladies is all smiles after their gold sweep in both the short and long programs at Midwestern Sectionals.


    The Starlights' Novice team may be channeling spiders, but the only place you should fear them is on the ice! Congratulations on your Sectionals silver, and good luck at Nationals!


    Teams Elite's Intermediate team is a little bit country, a little bit rock-and-roll and a lot bit ready to take the ice!

     Kayne-O'Shea win Senior Pairs gold

     
    Finishing third in both the Short Dance and Free Dance, Elliana Pogrebinsky of Peninsula SC and Alex Benoit of Skokie Valley SC skated off with the bronze medal Friday.

    SV skaters go 1-2-10 in Junior Pairs
     
    Winning the gold medal Wednesday in Junior Pairs were Joy Weinberg of Skokie Valley and Maximiliano Fernandez of the Miami FSC. The Pair were second in the Short Program Tuesday. (The team finished seventh at the Junior Grand Prix "Copernicus Stars 2015" event held in September in Poland.)


    Winning the silver medal Wednesday were Lindsay Weinstein of DuPage Skating Club and Jacob Simon of Skokie Valley. The Pair were first in the short program on Tuesday. (The team had two international events this season, finishing seventh in the ISU Junior Grand Prix event in Riga, Latvia, held in August 2015, and ninth at the Junior Grand Prix in Austria held in December.)


    Dropping to tenth overall were Jessica Lee of All Year FSC (Los Angeles area) and Brandon Kozlowski of Skokie Valley. The pair were sixth after the short program Tuesday. (The team won the silver medal at the Junior Grand Prix event held in Colorado Springs in June 2015.)

    Holding third place in the Junior Dance short program are Elliana Pogrebinsky of Peninsula SC and Alex Benoit of Skokie Valley SC. The Free Dance is Friday at 9 am.


    Chloe Ryan and Kendra Lachcik represented Skokie Valley Skating Club at the USFS Solo Dance competition in East Lansing, MI, in July.

    The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs hosted the Broadmoor Open the last weekend of June, Junior Chair Blair Klein reports.
